A new and fresh looking Indian team will fly for a quick 3 ODI series to Bangladesh after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League. The Indian team has been announced and it will be without Skipper MS Dhoni his lieutenant Virat Kohli either.
Indian team will be led by Suresh Raina who was in the last ODI series played by India not even a part of the team. The selectors have picked and make him the captain out of nowhere also considering the fact that his records as captain are forgettable.
This is not all the selectors have made quite a few changes and as many as 9 players from the regular squad are missing. Bangladesh Skipper Mushfiqur Rahim said to the media that he and the entire Bangladesh Cricket team were disappointed learning that India is sending in a weak team. It is similar to considering Bangladesh not a worthy opponent of fielding in a full fletched squad.
A pool of young talent and IPL stars have been included, the team is very inexperienced and might well face the heat. The team has uncapped players like Kedar Jadhav, Akshar Patel who have had a great and successful IPL season.
Robin Uthappa makes a comeback after 6 years of being out of the team with an impressive IPL season and being the Orange Cap holder too. Bowling department will have V Kumar, U Yadav, M Sharma among the pacers and A Mishra, P Rasool and Patel are the three spinners. Stuart Binny will be the all-rounder in the squad and Wriddhiman Saha to take care of the stumps in MS Dhoni’s absence.
All the three ODI’s will be played at Dhaka the 1st on June 15 followed by a day’s break second ODI on the 17th and third and final match to be played on 19th of June 2014.
