Unusual activities were seen on Martin Guptill’s Twitter handle after it got hacked on Monday, April 18, 2022. The hacker changed the name to Moonbirds and started a tweet thread inviting people to join the celebration of the launch of a project.

As Guptill is one of the most popular cricketers in the world, the activity came into the limelight soon. The New Zealander took to his Instagram stories to give the update and informed that his account was hacked.

“Hey all, just FYI, my Twitter has been hacked. Trying to get it sorted now, So annoying!” he shared on his Instagram stories. There have been hundreds of tweets from his account since it got hacked, with people being tagged with their usernames.

He last tweeted on the day of Ross Taylor’s retirement, congratulating him on his magnificent career, on April 6th, 2022. In the recently concluded ODI series against the Netherlands, Guptill scored a 123-ball 106 while opening the innings for the Black Caps. His ton came in the third ODI against the Netherlands after he was cheaply dismissed in the first two games.

New Zealand to play England and Ireland in June-July

Meanwhile, New Zealand’s upcoming schedule includes a Test series against England away from home. The first game will be played at the iconic Lord’s, starting June 2, 2022. After concluding the three-match Test series, they will fly to Ireland for a three-match ODI & T20 series in July. They recently won a three-match T20I series against the Netherlands 3-0 while the one-off  T20I before the ODI series was washed out.

One of Guptill’s best knocks in ODIs came during the 2015 World Cup when he smashed an unbeaten 237* against West Indies, to become the player with the highest score in the World Cup as his record remains unbeaten. He has been a permanent player in the New Zealand side for his prolific performances across all formats.
