After a stunning and historic win against the World Test champions New Zealand in the first test, the confident Bangla Tigers lock horns with New Zealand in the second and final Test of the series starting at Hagley Oval, Christchurch on January 9. The visitors shocked the cricketing world by beating the Blackcaps in their own backyard thanks to a truly sensational spell of bowling from Ebadot Hossain.
The hosts, who are without their regular captain Kane Williamson, couldn’t really get going throughout the Test as the tourists outplayed them in all the departments. Will Young, Henry Nicholls, and the latest Kiwi sensation Devon Conway were the only performers with the bat as stand-in skipper Tom Latham failed in both the innings. The mighty Kiwi pace attack had no answers against Bangladesh batters as the visitors raced away to 458 runs in the first innings.
Ebadot Hossain then rocked the Blackcaps batting line-up with his incredible spell of 6/46 to guide Bangladesh to a famous victory. Tom Latham’s men would be looking to give a strong reply in the second Test and end the series at 1-1. On the other hand, Bangla Tigers will like to taste double success by clinching their first-ever series victory over the Blackcaps in Tests.
