The innocence of the game seems to be lost when such incidences perspire on the field. Much to the relief of Shoaib Malik and the cricket world, the veteran batsman is fit and fine yet again. Malik took to micro blogging site Twitter to update his fans about his injury status.

He remarked that he is feeling great. Malik cheekily added that the ball that hit him might not be too well though. He thanked his fans and friends for their messages and good wishes in such time of crisis. Furthermore, he asked his fans to keep him in their prayers.

Here is what Shoaib Malik tweeted:

“Alhumdulilah I’m feeling great, the ball that hit me is in critical condition tho (though). Thank u dosto for all the wishes, messages, and tweets. Please remember me in your Duas,” tweeted Shoaib Malik.

Speaking about the incident, Shoaib Malik was batting without a helmet in the match. It was in the 32nd over of the Pakistani innings when he got hit on his head. After having played the delivery bowled by Mitchell Santner, Malik was taken by surprise as the throw from the fielder crashed in to his skull. He fell down on the field immediately as the New Zealand cricketers came close to check his conditions.

It all looked very grim in live action. The power of the throw was such that the ball got deflected from Malik’s skull to reach the boundary ropes. After a brief interruption, he got back on his feet to bat again. However, he did not take the field in the second innings and coach Mickey Arthur later admitted that they missed his services. Reports surfaced that Malik faced delayed concussions after the incident took place.
