Middle Order: Kane Williamson, Ross Taylor, Brendon McCullum

Reserve: Tom Latham,  James Franklin

The most important spot of the team in the batting line-up, probably known as First Down, i.e., the link between openers and middle order will be taken by the trusted Kane Williamson. He is one of the best batsman in the game now, with his ability to resurrect, build and pace the innings, the quality which he showed during the home series against India early in the year. The number 4 and 5 will be taken up by the experienced duo of Ross Taylor and Brendon McCullum, both of whom are fast runners and can find the gaps with ease.

Tom Latham and James Franklin will be on the bench to fill up the shoes if required but the Kiwis will hope that their first choice batsmen are fit going into the World Cup, which can give them a realistic chance to win the tournament.
