'Nice words Bhabi' - Shadab Khan pokes fun at Hassan Ali's English after the latter tweets about postponement of PSL 2020

The fifth season of the Pakistan Super League was called off due to the threat of the coronavirus outbreak. The tournament was slowly losing its sheen as the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the virus as a pandemic, with it wreaking havoc in over 160 countries in the world and affecting over 180,000 people all around the globe.

First, the PSL 5 was truncated by 4 days and then foreign players were advised by their respective countries to return back home as they were closing entry from outside and sealing their borders. As many as 10 foreign players exited the tournament in one go and then the likes of Chris Lynn and Alex Hales also left their teams qualified for the playoffs.

Hassan Ali thanks fans for showing the love to PSL 2020

With the COVID-19 getting serious with time, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to call-off the remaining matches in the PSL 5. The count of the positive cases in Pakistan jumped to 184 on Tuesday, which became a big reason why the two semi-final matches to be played on March 17 in Lahore were cancelled. Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi were due to face each other in the first semi-final; while Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings were clashing in the other.

Zalmi franchise’s fast bowler Hassan Ali took to Twitter and showed his love and gratitude to the fans who had supported the tournament, despite the second half of the league being played in empty stadiums as mass gatherings were banned in order to keep the virus from spreading.

“Of course we all want to play but correct call was made by authorities thanks all fans of @thePSLt20 for love you have shown last few weeks #PSL2020,” Ali tweeted. However, Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan decided to pull the leg of his Pakistani teammate for posting a tweet in such a polished English. He teased him,” Nice words Bhabi.”

It was reported that a foreign player had showed symptoms of coronavirus before going back to his country. Later, senior commentator Rameez Raja, in a video, revealed that the said player was England’s Alex Hales, who has been put in 14-day self-isolation on returning back to the UK, and was tested for the COVID-19 virus with results being awaited.
