'No rain forecast for next game' - Michael Vaughan gives weather update for Lord's Test

On their England tour, India has played two matches already, one being the World Test Championship final while the other being the first Test against the home team in Trent Bridge. Both the matches have been marred by rain, which has led to the frustration of the fans and players. However, going by what Michael Vaughan has said, the second Test between England and India might get good weather. 

The first Test in Trent Bridge ended in a dull draw. The match was shaping up to have an exciting finish going into the final day’s play when India needed 157 runs to win with nine wickets in their hands. But, continuous rain on day five meant the match had to be called off with no ball being bowled on the final day. 

Now the two teams have arrived at Lord’s in London for the second Test which starts on Thursday. Vaughan remarked ahead of the second Test that rain might not play a huge factor in this Test with the weather forecast looking positive in the build-up to the match. Vaughan updated that there is no major scare of rain on the forecast as of now. 

Vaughan aware of unpredictable weather in UK

“I’m home, which is like three hours away from London. You can see my window; the sun is glaring through. I believe (fingers crossed), there is no rain forecast up north or down south for the next week which means that we should be set for a full Test match. You never know in the UK; I am sure it may surprise but as we speak, no rain forecast for the Test match,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

Though there is some good news regarding the weather, the two teams have now been rocked with injury scares. Stuart Broad pulled his calf ahead of the second Test which could potentially keep him out of the side. Moeen Ali has been recalled into the Test squad and is most likely to come in for the second match.

On the other hand, India too has some worries. It was reported that Shardul Thakur has suffered a hamstring injury and could make way for Ravichandran Ashwin.
