Afghanistan is all set to lock horns with India in the upcoming one-off historic game as they will debut in the longest format of the game. They are riding high on confidence after whitewashing Bangladesh in the three-match T20I series and will be eager to continue in the same vein. The game will be played from June 14 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. While everyone is in anticipation of a great encounter, the skipper of the visitors Asghar Stanikzai has come up with a strong statement regarding the Indian spinners.

Team India is playing without the likes of Virat Kohli, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah with Ajinkya Rahane set to lead the side. They will have to tackle the spinners of the opposition and will be under pressure as they are expected to win the game being the number 1 side in the World.

Morale is high

Asghar Stanikzai is all pumped up for the game and has said that the spinners in Afghanistan squad are better than the likes of R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

“The whole world knows that [we have very good spinners in] Rashid Khan, Mujeeb, Nabi, Rahmat, Zahir. In Afghanistan, the brilliant thing is that a lot of the young talent that is coming through are spinners because they all follow Rashid, they follow Nabi, so because of that our spin department is very strong from below. In my opinion, we have good spinners, better spinners than India,” he was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo.

He also affirmed the fact that they’ve been preparing extremely well for the stern test ahead and are motivated to represent the country in the whites. “Great preparation for the Test match against India – the morale is high. Last couple of years we have performed well. We want to achieve it for Afghanistan. You see the batsmen, bowlers are all in good form,” Stanikzai added.
