The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ramiz Raja had stated that a quadrangular T20I Super Series featuring India, Pakistan, England, and Australia could be held every year.

Raja had also tweeted that all the four nations will take turns to host the series, and a separate revenue model will be created where the profits can be shared on a percentage basis with every member of the ICC. Raja had also tweeted that if this happens, then cricket would be the winner.

“Will propose to the ICC a Four Nations T20I Super Series involving Pakistan, India, Australia, and England to be played every year, to be hosted on rotational basis by these four. A separate revenue model with profits to be shared on a percentage basis with all ICC members. I think we have a winner,” tweeted Ramiz Raja.

India’s primary responsibility is to safeguard bilateral cricket at home: Jay Shah

However, the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Jay Shah stated that the main interest of the BCCI is to safeguard bilateral series that are played at home. Shah also added that the main emphasis will be on Test match cricket. Shah is also keen to see cricket make it to the Olympics.

“With the IPL window expanding and the ICC (global) events every year in the cycle, our primary responsibility is to safeguard bilateral cricket at home, with emphasis on Test cricket. I am also looking forward to seeing cricket at the Olympics, as that will help the game grow,” said Shah.

Shah also added that people should prioritise the expansion of cricket rather than focusing on a short-term commercial idea. “Expansion of the sport is a challenge that our game faces and we must prioritise it over any short-term commercial initiative,” added Shah.

Shah also assured that the BCCI is taking all the steps to conduct a women’s league that will be similar to the IPL. “I want to assure you that BCCI is not only sincere but is taking all necessary steps to start a full-fledged women’s league similar to the IPL soon,” concluded Shah.
