January 19, 2021 – The day will always be etched in the history of Indian cricket. India’s tour of Australia this time around will be remembered forever for the grit and determination of the visiting side bereft of almost eight of its first-choice players. India chased down 328 runs in the fourth innings to breach the Gabba fortress of Australia as the hosts lost their first Test at the venue since 1988.

No wonder, the Tim Paine-led side was confident coming into the fourth Test in Brisbane despite India heroically playing out a draw in Sydney. To make things worse for Ajinkya Rahane and his men, four more of their warriors from Sydney, Ravi Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hanuma Vihari, got injured and were ruled out of the deciding Test.

Given Australia’s record at the venue, a confident Tim Paine tried to disturb Ravi Ashwin during the Sydney Test stating, “Can’t wait to get you to the Gabba.” The latter had replied superbly as well then before the Australia skipper lost his cool and called Ashwin dic**ead. Though he apologised later for his behaviour, Paine was already on the radar of the Indian fans.

Excited Indian fans take on Tim Payne on Instagram

Soon after Rishabh Pant scored the winning runs to seal the Gabba Test and eventually the four-match series, the excited Indian fans went to Instagram and ended up trolling a wrong Tim Paine. A man with name Tim Payne with a verified account who is from London has faced unwanted criticism from Indian fans in the comments section of his posts.

The screenshot of the same has gone viral on social media and one has to feel for the wrong ‘Tim Paine’ who has been facing the wrath for Australia’s skipper’s banters from behind the wickets. The man himself shared all the messages in his story. Meanwhile, Paine is not on Instagram itself and his wife Bonnie Paine had cleared during the last tour in 2018-19 that her husband isn’t on this image and video-sharing social networking site.
