Pakistan hosted Australia in a bilateral series for the very first time after the 1998/99 season when the two teams had locked horns in the first Test match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium recently that ended in a stalemate. The series-opener saw both teams giving their best in a run-fest that was played on a dead wicket.

The focus now shifts towards the second game that will be played at the National Stadium in Karachi on March 12. Ahead of the all-important contest, the Pakistan players were seen sweating it out in the nets as they look to prove a point in the upcoming game. However, the focus was on pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi as he did something spectacular during the net session.

Shaheen Afridi decides to bowl spin in the nets

Shaheen Afridi is known to make the new ball talk and can also do some damage in the middle overs as well with his left-arm pace. But, for a change, he decided to come up with a unique technique. While bowling in the nets, the tall speedster imitated India’s left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja and the former’s bowling mannerisms seemed to be a bit similar as well. Meanwhile, the batter who was facing him decided to play a paddle scoop and nearly ended up bamboozling himself as the ball missed the leg-stump.

Shaheen had finished with figures of 2/88 from his 30 overs as he picked up the wickets of a well-set Marnus Labuschagne for 90 and stunned his Australian counterpart Mitchell Starc with a dream delivery in the first Test. He did not get a chance to bowl in the second innings as the hosts scored 252/0 at the end of stumps on Day five riding on unbeaten centuries from Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq who scored 136 and 111 respectively. Both teams would now be eyeing a result in this Test match in order to take a lead in the three-match series.
