Imad Wasim, the Pakistan all-round cricketer, is all set to tie the knots this month. The southpaw is marrying London-based Sania Ashfaq in a ceremony in Islamabad on August 26. The Wales-born cricketer is currently plying his trade for Nottinghamshire in the ongoing T20 Blast in England. The 30-year-old player will be getting a week’s break from his professional commitments.

He recently was a part of the national squad in the 2019 World Cup. Though he couldn’t pick up a whole lot of wickets, Wasim was effective with the bat in hand with three scores in the 40s lower down the order. He also became the Player of the Match versus Afghanistan for his unbeaten 49 under pressure. In that game, the left-arm spinner picked up a couple of wickets as well.

As far as the wedding is concerned, Sania and Imad are said to have known each other for quite some time. After the marriage, he will join his team in the T20 tournament. “I will get a week’s break from my professional commitments for the marriage ceremony and will rejoin Nottinghamshire for the remaining matches,” Imad was quoted as saying in The Nation.

Hasan Ali to get married as well

Apart from Imad, another Pakistan cricketer in Hasan Ali is expected to tie the knots with Shamia Arzoo, an Indian girl, who hails from the Mewat district of Haryana. The auspicious occasion is most likely to take place on August 20 in Dubai. A few days before the wedding, the family members will be travelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as mentioned by Shamia’s father.

However, Hasan said that the marriage isn’t a confirmed one yet and their families have to meet and decide upon it. The fast bowler also stated that he’ll make an official announcement very soon. Along with Imad, Hasan also played the World Cup. Even as Imad didn’t play all the games in the tournament, Hasan was in an out of the team as well for his lacklustre performances.

Ali played only four games and ended with a couple of wickets. He leaked runs at an alarming rate and was left out of the side following Pakistan’s defeat at the hands of India at the Old Trafford in Manchester. The speedster conceded 84 runs in that game in his quota.
