Pakistan create history with yet another T20I series win

Pakistan have struggled of late in the One-Day Internationals but their juggernaut seems to be unstoppable in the T20Is. After whitewashing Australia comprehensively, they managed to sideline New Zealand in the first two of the three-match series. Though the Kiwis pushed them to the corner time and again, the Men in Green managed to come out on top to register their 11th consecutive series win in the shortest format of the game.

No other team has managed to such a sprint in the T20s ever since its inception. New Zealand tried to trump them in both the games which went down to the wire, but Pakistan had enough gas left in them to win. While they emerged victorious in the series opener by just two runs, Sarfraz Ahmed‘s men aced the chase in the next match in the last over with just a couple of ball to spare.

This was also their eighth consecutive victory in the format and need only four more to overhaul Afghanistan’s world record of 11 back-to-back wins.

100 percent chasing record under Sarfraz

Sarfraz Ahmed has turned things around dramatically for Pakistan ever since he has taken over the mantle of the team in all the formats. He seems the most comfortable skipper in the T20Is given the fact that the team is looking flawless irrespective of where they are playing. On the current form, they are the favourites to win the World T20 in 2020.

Amazingly, Pakistan have never lost a game under Sarfraz’s captaincy while chasing down the total. This was their 11th consecutive win while gunning down the total in the most popular format.

They would just hope to take the same kind of confidence into the ODIs which has taken a beating after a poor Asia Cup recently. The three-match ODI series against New Zealand will commence on November 7 before the dead rubber T20I will be played on Sunday.
