Pakistan cricketers to donate PKR 5 million to battle Coronavirus outbreak

Ehsan Mani, the chairman of PCB, said that the board has always stood with his people and they will support them in such alarming conditions.

Coronavirus pandemic has left everyone’s life quite miserable. The most affected are the people who were dependent on their daily wages. Their life and earnings have majorly come down to a halt.

COVID-19 has created a stern situation on the planet earth. Countries are under lockdown and people are not allowed to roam or go out in social gatherings. Sporting industry has suffered huge losses due to the sudden postponement of the tournaments. And, some of them have been cancelled as well. There is nothing that normal people can do at the moment and they can just wish that the condition would soon pave its way back to normal.

Pakistan cricketers take a big step to help the needy

At the moment, it is the need of the hour to help each other. Hence, Pakistan cricketers have has taken a step forward and donated PKR 5 million in total to the government’s emergency fund. Ehsan Mani, the chairman of PCB, said that the board has always stood with his people and they will support them in such alarming conditions.

He also added that fact that there Pakistan cricketers and staff are supporting the government. As per him, the success of a country is measured by the unity of the people. And, this is the moment when everyone should unite to encounter the outbreak of Coronavirus.

“The Pakistan Cricket Board has always stood with the people of Pakistan in desperate times. This is one of the gravest, most challenging and unprecedented times, which our local and federal governments and health workers are having to face.

While we continue to pray for the wellbeing and success of our health workers so that normality returns to our society, we at the PCB are making a small contribution which will support the government in its endeavours against the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am fully aware like a lot of other generous people in our society, our cricketers and staff are privately supporting the local governments and various other charities by making contributions in their own ways.  We are grateful to them for their valuable support. The success of nations is measured by how they come together in difficult times, and this is one such moment when we all must stand united,” PCB chairman Ehsan Mani said in their Press release.
