India is in with a fighting chance in the ongoing first Test match against South Africa in Cape Town only due to the star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. This is his first series in whites after making his debut in Sri Lanka. He was being tipped as the most valuable player of the team given his ability to bowl at extreme pace and bat at number 7 in the line-up. He proved the same with a brilliant knock on the second day. However, a Pakistani fan has been trolled now who had predicted of him being exposed in South Africa well before the series began.

The visitors were reduced to 92/7 in the first innings in pursuit of 286 posted by the home side. The top order had completely failed to come to terms with the conditions against the fiery pace quartet of Dale Steyn, Morne Morkel, Kagiso Rabada and Vernon Philander. But Hardik Pandya strode out to the middle with supreme confidence and took the attack to them. His strategy worked as the hosts least expected it from him with the team in tatters. He added 99 for the eighth wicket with Bhuvneshwar Kumar who supported him exceedingly well.

Eventually, he was dismissed for 93 missing out on a well-deserved century but not before propelling India to a formidable total of 209. In the second innings with the ball in hand, he snuffed out the openers after they had added more than 50 runs together. His all-round skills had given India a lifeline in the game and probably in the series as the visitors now believe that they can still win this Test.

Trollers thrash Pakistani fan

On December 10 last year, almost a month before the series had begun, a Twitter user named ‘Ahmed’ who hails from Pakistan predicted that Hardik Pandya will fail badly against the Proteas. He also believed that Pandya will join the long list of failed all-rounders of the country like Ritinder Singh Sodhi, Stuart Binny and Joginder Sharma. His tweet read, “Harpic Pandya to get brutally exposed in SA & join the long list of failed Indian all-rounders such as RS Sodhi, Stuart Little Binny & Jogi Sharma.”

However, what transpired on the second day of the Test was a perfect reply from Pandya to him as the Indian fans trolled him hilariously. Also, the Twitter user ‘Ahmed’ wasn’t available to reply to any of those comments who was active earlier when he tweeted the future.
