Pakistan continued their unbeaten run in Test cricket in their new home country UAE as they sealed the series against West Indies with a 133-run win in the 2nd Test. Pakistan posted 452 runs in their first innings after electing to bat. After restricting West Indies for 224, Pakistan declared at 227/2 in their 2nd innings setting at 456-run target for the visitors with five sessions of play remaining. West Indies batsmen got off to starts but none of them stepped up and scored big to avoid a defeat for them as they bowled out for 322. Here we look at all the stats and records recorded during the game.

5.88 – Innings taken by Younis at an average to score a century in Test cricket, the 2nd best rate among the batsmen who have scored 20 centuries in this format. Don Bradman’s 2.76 is the best rate.

5/96 – Shannon Gabriel’s bowling figures in the first innings of this Test. This is the first time he has taken more than 3 wickets in a Test innings.

7 – Yasir Shah became the 7th Pakistani bowler to take two ten-wicket hauls in a year in Tests. The last one to do was Saeed Ajmal in 2012.

9 – Matches played by Pakistan in Tests at Abu Dhabi without losing. They won in 5 while other 4 ended in a draw at this venue. These are the most matches a team has played at any venue without losing any match. Next best is 8 Test matches also by Pakistan at Wellington.

10 – Number of series Pakistan won under Misbah-ul-Haq’s captaincy in Tests. These are the most series wins for an Asian captain. Misbah went past Sourav Ganguly and MS Dhoni, who won nine series as captains.

13 – Centuries scored by Younis Khan after turning 35, the most by any batsman. Graham Gooch, Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have 12 each.

15 – Century stands between Misbah and Younis, the joint 4th most by any pair in Test cricket. Among Pakistan pairs, next best is 10 between Inzamam-Yousuf pair and Miandad-Mudassar pair.

39 – Fifty-plus scores by Misbah-ul-Haq as captain in Tests, the joint fifth most by any player as captain.

42.46 – Kraig Brathwaite’s strike rate of 42.46 in Tests is the 2nd lowest for any player in this format who debuted after 2001. Lowest is Azhar Ali’s strike rate of 42.18.

112 – Wickets taken by Yasir Shah in Tests, the joint most by any bowler in his first 18 Tests. George Lohmann and Sydney Barnes also took 112 wickets in their first 18 Tests.

119.71 – Partnership average of Misbah-Younis pair in Tests in the UAE is the best average for any pair in a country. (Min: 10 partnerships)

2012 – Last time before this series, Pakistan won the first two matches of a three or more match Test series was against England in 2012 in UAE.

3156 – Runs added Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq as a pair in Test cricket, the most by any Pakistan pair in Test cricket. They went past the Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan pair’s record of 3137 runs.

4055 – Runs scored by Misbah-ul-Haq after the age of 35 in Test cricket. He became only the 3rd batsmen to score 4000+ Test runs after turning 35. Graham Gooch (4563) and Sachin Tendulkar (4139) are the other two.
