Leg spinner Yasir Shah continued his spin bowling rampage and claimed 6/124 to help Pakistan bowl out West Indies for 322 and win the 2nd Test match by 133 run win. The leg-spinner was at his effective best like he had been ever since his debut and picked up his eighth five-wicket haul and second ten-wicket match haul in 18 Tests.
It took only 46 overs for Pakistan to claim the remaining six West Indies wicket and go 2-0 up the 3 match series. On a fifth day slow pitch, Misbah ul Haq bowled Yasir unchanged from one end while employing left arm fast bowler Rahat Ali and left arm spinner Zulfiqar Babar from the other end.
Very few would have batted that West Indies batsman would play out the entire final day and save the Test. Having lost four wickets, all kind of needless dismissals, the chances of winning was out of context for them. But, they weren’t completely fragile though. Roston Chase and Jermaine Blackwood started out positively with the latter racing his way to missing out on a century by five runs. Jason Holder also tried to hang around. But, it was only a matter of time before the Yasir Shah began chipping in wickets.
All the three wickets – Chase, Holder, Blackwood -which fell in the morning session belonged to Shah. Shai Hope and Devendra Bishoo delayed Pakistan’s victory for same time fate the Lunch break but Zulfiqar Babar, who was bowling without much success, finally rejoiced with two wickets and West Indies’ end.
Pakistan have not lost a Test series at 'home' in last 9 years. Their last defeat was against South Africa in 2007. #PakvWI
