After a Babar Azam special in the last Test in Karachi, Pakistan and Australia are set to battle it out in the third and final match of the series, which is to be played from March 21 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The Test series decider and the following limited-overs series is going to take place in Lahore.
Speaking about the last epic Test, Pakistan’s skipper Babar grabbed all the headlines on the final day of the match. Having been set a humongous target of 506 runs, Babar and Abdullah Shafique shared a mammoth 228-run stand that frustrated the Australian bowlers.
Shafique amassed 96 runs off 305 deliveries. Captain Babar then began the rescue act as he slammed the highest individual score (196) by a captain in the fourth innings. He also registered the highest score by a Pakistani batter in the final innings of a match.
Mohammad Rizwan also hammered a century as he notched up an unbeaten 104 runs off 177 deliveries. Aussie spinners Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Swepson bowled marathon spells of 55 and 53.4 overs respectively, as Pakistan held their nerves to draw the match.
