Pakistan set to host Bangladesh in a 3-match T20I series starting on Friday which is part of Bangladesh’s all-format tour split into two trips. This series will be a crucial one for Pakistan to regain their form in the shorter format. Pakistan lost all the T20I series they played last year but their winning streaks between 2016 and 2018 have helped in retaining their No.1 rank. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be boosted by the inclusion of Tamim Iqbal to the squad that toured India and lost 1-2 in the 3-match T20I series.

All the key stats and numbers ahead of the 3-match T20I series in Pakistan:

1-8 – Pakistan managed to win only one of the ten matches they played in 2019 in the T20I cricket. They lost eight T20Is last year while another match resulted in a washout which they were set to lose. They are currently on a 7-match streak without a win in this format.

2-8 – Bangladesh won only two of the eight T20I matches they played against Pakistan. Both those wins came in the last three meetings between the two teams. Pakistan and Bangladesh have not faced off in a T20I match since 2016 WT20 in India.

0-3 – Pakistan lost each of their last three T20Is matches at home as Sri Lanka whitewashed them in the last year’s 3-match series. Pakistan failed to chase a target in all the three games of that series played in Lahore. Prior to this series, Pakistan won nine out of ten T20Is they played at home.

16/16 – Pakistan won all the 16 matches they played at home against Bangladesh in International Cricket. However, the last International game on the Pakistan soil between these two teams was played way back in 2008. These two sides faced off only once in the T20I format in Pakistan.

150 – The first game of this series will be the 150th appearance in the T20I format for Pakistan and will become the first country to feature in as many as T20Is.

1556 – Runs Tamim Iqbal aggregated in the T20I cricket for Bangladesh. He needs 12 more runs to go past Shakib Al Hasan’s tally of 1567 and become the leading run-getter for Bangladesh in this format. Tamim, in fact, scored 1613 runs in this format but 57 of those runs came across 4 T20Is for ICC World XI. He did not feature in a T20I match last year.

1908Mohammad Hafeez needs 92 more runs for completing 2000 runs in the Twenty20 Internationals. When Hafeez scores those 92 runs, he will become the 9th player and only the 2nd from Pakistan after Shoaib Malik (2263) to amass 2000 T20I runs in Men’s cricket.
