Pakistan and West Indies are all set to make their pink Test debut as both the boards have agreed to play the second ever day/night Test match in Dubai from October 13 to 17 the first of the 3 Test matches the series comprises of.

West Indies will tour Pakistan for a tour where they will play 3 Twenty20 Internationals, One-Day Internationals and Tests each. Earlier it was reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was trying its best to persuade the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) to play a day/night Test during the tour.

They had also offered to cut down the number of matches to be played during the tour to give the team enough time to practice under lights with the pink ball. But as per the latest available schedule, the games haven’t been cut down. It was also learnt that earlier the West Indies board was reluctant but on an assurance of a practice match and day/night training sessions the WICB agreed for the game.

PCB has always been keen on hosting a pink Test in the UAE and had in the past tried to convince the Sri Lankan board to play a game in 2013 but things didn’t work out then since the players weren’t accustomed to this different ball and the conditions and lack of practice was termed the major reason for the failure to crack it up.

The semi-final and final of the tournament are also set to be played day/night.
