The world of cricket looks set to witness a thrilling encounter when West Indies and Pakistan lock horns in the shortest format of the game, starting from the end of March. The series will be extended by two more T20 matches, the West Indian cricket board confirmed on Sunday.
According to the initial schedule, the tour comprised of 2 T20 internationals, 3 One Day Internationals and 3 Test matches. The contest will kick-off with the action-packed T20 internationals with Pakistan fighting world champions West Indies firstly at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on March 26 followed by three other matches at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad on March 31, April 1 and 2 respectively.
April 7, 9 and 11 will see the two teams go head to head in the One Day Internationals which will be succeeded by a gap in which Pakistan are expected to warm themselves up in a three-day tour game for the Test series.
The inaugural Test will be played at Sabina Park in Jamaica on April 22. Barbados and Dominica will host the other two Tests with the series coming to an end by May 14.
There has been only one instance before where a four-match T20 series has been played between two teams with their full members on board and that was in January 2016 when Zimbabwe travelled to Bangladesh.

“T20 is an exciting format and this is another opportunity for our fans to indulge in the thrilling atmosphere that surrounds these matches,” said Roland Holder, the West Indies Cricket Board’s manager for cricket operations. “We look forward to fans in Barbados and Trinidad coming out and cheering our team on to victory.”
Though the West Indians have the edge heading on to the series, Pakistan will have a fair amount of confidence for legit reasons. The last time these two teams face each other was in 2013, with Pakistan thrashing the Windies both in the One Day and T20 formats of the game.
