Match Details:

Preview:

England Women’s tour of Malaysia will kick off on Monday where they face Pakistan Women in a 3-match ODI series and followed by a 3-match T20I series. England will be looking to fill the void created due to Sarah Taylor’s retirement ahead of the ICC events scheduled for next year. On the other hand, Pakistan will be without their senior player Sana Mir who took a break from the sport. Her experience will be missed as they need to beat the mighty England team to stay alive in the race of direct qualification for the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in 2021. However, Nida Dar, who was allowed to play in the WBBL instead of the home series against Bangladesh, returns.

Weather Condition/Report:

A delayed start to the match is expected as there is a forecast of showers between 6 AM and 9 AM local time.

Pitch Condition/Report:

The Kinrara Academy Oval in Kuala Lumpur hosted three Women’s ODI matches thus far and during Australia’s tour against Pakistan last year. The average scores show more of their domination as they posted 290+ twice while batting first. Pakistan were bowled out for 95 in the match they batted first. Hence, we can expect similar totals as England are much stronger than Pakistan.

Average 1st innings score: 231 (Women’s ODIs)

Record of chasing teams: Won – 1, Lost – 2

Injury and Availability:

(Will be added when there is an update)

Probable Playing XIs:

Pakistan Women:

Nahida Khan, Javeria Khan, Bismah Maroof (C), Omaima Sohail, Aliya Riaz, Nida Dar, Sidra Nawaz (WK), Aroob Shah, Diana Baig, Kaynat Hafeez, Nashra Sandhu.

Bench – Anam Amin, Fatima Sana, Rameen Shamim, Sidra Amin.

England Women:

Amy Jones (WK), Tammy Beaumont, Nat Sciver, Heather Knight (C), Lauren Winfield/Fran Wilson, Danni Wyatt, Katherine Brunt, Kate Cross, Sophie Ecclestone, Kirstie Gordon, Anya Shrubsole.

Bench – Freya Davies, Sarah Glenn, Mady Villiers, Lauren Winfield/Fran Wilson.

Top Picks:

Amy Jones and Tammy Beaumont are going to be crucial in the fantasy team if England bats first. At least one of the two players are expected to score a century. Even while chasing, these two players score bulk of the runs. Bismah Maroof has been brilliant as an all-rounder during the recent ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh. Nat Sciver has been in rich form across KSL and WBBL. She could be seen continuing that form.

Captain and Vice-Captain Selection:

Captain Options – Amy Jones, Tammy Beaumont, Bismah Maroof, Javeria Khan

Vice-captain options – Nida Dar, Nat Sciver, Katherine Brunt, Nahida Khan

Suggested Playing XI No.1 for Fantasy Cricket:

Keeper – Amy Jones (C)

Batters – Omaima Sohail, Tammy Beaumont, Javeria Khan

All-Rounders – Nat Sciver, Katherine Brunt, Heather Knight, Bismah Maroof (VC)

Bowlers – Aroob Shah, Sophie Ecclestone, Nashra Sandhu

Suggested Playing XI No.2 for Fantasy Cricket:

Keeper – Amy Jones

Batters – Tammy Beaumont (C), Kaynat Hafeez, Javeria Khan (VC)

All-Rounders – Nat Sciver, Heather Knight, Bismah Maroof, Nida Dar

Bowlers – Aroob Shah, Sophie Ecclestone, Anya Shrubsole

Expert Advice:

Heather Knight might not be batting much in this series if the top-order steps up big time. Hence, picking Nidar Dar and Katherine Brunt ahead of her will be justified if England is the chasing side.

Probable Winners:

England Women are expected to start the series with a big win.
