Pakistan's Hasan Ali hits back at criticism over his dedication towards the game

Pakistan star Hasan Ali arrived in international cricket with a bang, playing a stunning role in Pakistan’s historic triumph at the ICC Champions Trophy in 2017. He had gone on to scoop the award for the Player of the Tournament. A few weeks later, the right-arm pacer had also made it to the top of the ICC Rankings for ODI bowlers.

However, he has failed to live up to the early promise in the last year or so. In 2018, he managed just 19 wickets in 14 games and his form this year has not been good either. In this year’s World Cup, he was one of Pakistan’s worst performers as the Men in Green failed to make it past the league stage. In four games, he picked up just a couple of wickets while conceding well over 6 runs per over.

His miseries were then further compounded by an injury which has still kept him on the sidelines. Hasan Ali has not played an international game since the World Cup clash against India on June 16. He was initially out of action with a back injury before suffering a rib injury last month. The injury ruled him out of the ongoing home Test series against Sri Lanka.

Hasan Ali’s answer to Indian news agency:

As Hasan Ali desperately tries to recover and make a comeback to action, he faced criticism from all around after a video of him walking in a fashion show went viral. The fans were surprised to see the bowler in the show instead of taking rest in order to recover. Apart from the fans, an Indian Hindi news agency also covered that video.

However, the pacer was not all impressed with the news piece and did not waste time in reaction to it. But to everyone’s surprise, the Pakistan star reacted to it in Hindi, writing:

“आपकी जानकारी के लिए बता देता हूं मैंने 60-70% रिकवर कर लिया है। मेरे फैंस मेरी चिंता करने के लिए काफी है लिहाज़ा आपको इसकी ज़रूरत नहीं… धन्यवाद🙏🏻 (For your information,  I have recovered 60-70%. My fans are there to worry about me thus you should not bother yourself with that)”
