Pakistan's proposed tour of US for a T20I tri-series called off

The Pakistan cricket team was expected to tour the United States and play a T20I triangular-series with West Indies and Bangladesh. However, as per the latest development, the series might as well be called off since Cricket Windies hasn’t quite managed to fit it in their schedule.

Pakistan is currently on the tour of the United Kingdom where they first play Ireland in their historic first Test that gets underway today and then travel to England for a two-Test series. After the Tests, Sarfraz Ahmed & Co. will take on Scotland in a two-T20I series and the tour comes to a close on June 13.

They have a pretty packed schedule for the summer as the Men in Green would continue to travel thereafter and land in Zimbabwe. There they play the hosts in a T20I tri-series where Australia is the other team. The tri-series starts on July 1 and the final will be played on July 8.

While in the African nation, the Pakistan team also plays five ODIs. The 50-overs assignment kicks-off on July 13 and the 5th ODI will be concluded on July 22. Following this series the team had a window for August and wanted to utilize that for the tri-series in the US.

Schedule clash with the CPL

However, according to Daily Express, their sources have confirmed that Cricket Windies tried but didn’t manage to fit in the series as it clashed with their T20 League the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Pakistan continue to have a tight international schedule after August as they play the Asia Cup starting September 13 and soon after prepare to host the Trans-Tasman teams New Zealand and Australia for separate series’.

Then late in the year, the Pakistani team will set off for another tough assignment as they land in South Africa for a full-fledged tour in December that comprises of three Tests, five ODIs and three T20Is.
