Young all-rounder from Pakistan, Hussain Talat, has set his sights on the national side. The talented 21-year old cricketer will be seen playing for the Islamabad United in the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Recently, as per the quotes in PakPassion, he remarked that he wishes to play the role of the batting all-rounder for the national side as well.
Hussain Talat cited that he wishes to play the same role for Pakistan team that Jacques Kallis had played for South Africa during his playing days. On similar lines, he remarked that he would like to start off his career the way Abdul Razzaq did for Pakistan – begin as a top order batsman and then settle in the role of the all-rounder.
“I am convinced that I can perform an important role for my side as a batting all-rounder who can hold his own as a proper batsman in the top order. What I wish to do is to become an all-rounder who plays in the top-order, and to perform a role which is very similar to what Jacques Kallis and Shane Watson did for their teams,” Hussain Talat quoted.
‘In good shape for national side’
Speaking further about his chances of playing international cricket, Hussain Talat remarked that he is totally fit for the national side. Last year, he was in the 30-man squad for the tour of West Indies. However, he failed to make it to the top 15 for the tour. Furthermore, Talat cited that he is very adaptive and can play at any position for his team. He has batted at almost all the batting positions in his career.
“I have had good experience as an opening batsman in One-Day games and in Twenty20 games I have played from the 3rd to the 7th batting positions. However, my aim is to establish myself in any side as a proper recognised batsman who can play in the 4th or 5th batting position for his team. I am absolutely in good shape to join the national side if I am selected,” Talat mentioned.
