After registering a thumping victory against Bangladesh in the first Test, Indian skipper Virat Kohli scripted his name into the record books. The 31-year-old wrote his name in the books by becoming the Indian captain with the most number of innings win.

Kohli surpassed former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s record to go on top of the elite list. Earlier, MS Dhoni, Mohammad Azharuddin and Sourav Ganguly were at number one, two and three respectively. Considering the recent form, Kohli has the potential to establish himself as one of the most successful captains that India has produced. The prolific run-scorer now has 10 wins by an inning under his belt, one more than MS Dhoni and two more than Mohammad Azharuddin.

Virat Kohli and his troops are currently preparing for their second Test against Bangladesh which will also be India’s first-ever day-night Test. Ahead of the second Test, the Indian skipper took the internet by storm by his recent tweet. Kohli posted a cryptic picture on Twitter with someone that appears to be former captain MS Dhoni with the caption “Partners in crime.. Crime: stealing doubles from fielders at the boundary. Guess who.” Fans, in no time, flooded the comments section with Dhoni’s name.

MS Dhoni was recently seen practicing in Ranchi

The picture was a treat for all Dhoni fans, who are eagerly waiting to see him bounce back to the international stage. Dhoni, who has been an integral part of Indian cricket, has been away from the game for quite a while now. Ever since India’s semi-final exit from the ICC World Cup 2019 against New Zealand in August, a lot of rumours have been circulating regarding Dhoni‘s retirement. Fans are eager to see Dhoni return to action while donning CSK jersey in the upcoming IPL season.

Dhoni’s future has been the talk of the town since his absence from the game. Recently, the right-hander was seen practicing in nets in the Jharkhand cricket association stadium in Ranchi. Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha have emerged as his possible replacements during the period of his unavailability. India’s next limited-overs campaign is against the West Indies, who will be visiting the country for three T20Is and as many ODIs.
