India is the country which is blessed with a lot of talent. The love for the game of cricket is immense in the country which leads to many athletes pursuing their goal of becoming a cricketer. Parvinder Awana was also one of them who played domestic cricket for Delhi and also represented his country albeit only in a couple of T20 Internationals. However, he has announced his retirement from all the forms of the game with immediate effect at a very early age of 31.

Despite being supremely talented, he never got more opportunities to showcase his talent at the highest level. In the 2 T20Is he played for the country, Awana failed to pick up a wicket and conceded almost 12 runs per over against England. But he was one of the best players for his domestic side Delhi.

The 31-year-old ended his career with 191 wickets in the first-class cricket only in 62 matches with as many as 10 five-wicket hauls to his name. He also picked 63 wickets in 44 List-A matches to go with 77 scalps in the shortest format of the game at a decent strike rate of 17.6.

Awana takes to Twitter

Parvinder Awana took to his official Twitter handle to let his followers know about him bidding adieu to the game he loved the most. He featured for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and a brilliant show in the marquee T20 league had earned him a place in the national side.

He played 33 matches for the franchise and picked 39 wickets at an impressive economy of 8.27. However, he didn’t play even a single game after the 2014 edition of the tournament as no team showed any interest in him in the auction.

“There comes a time when all good things come to an end. I would like to thank everyone who have been part of my cricketing journey and supported me at all times,” Awana wrote in his tweet and attached a thank you message for everyone.
