Australia, by winning the 2nd ODI against South Africa, levelled the three-match series 1-1. This game at the Adelaide Oval was indeed a nerve-wracking one and left the fans on the edge of their seats. On a track that was a belter to bat on, it was a mid-scoring humdinger that was witnessed. Australia won the match by a mere 7 runs.
During the contest, Pat Cummins had a very funny reaction after a review went the home team’s way. It was in the 44th over of the game when Miller just got to his fifty and was looking absolutely threatening. Marcus Stoinis was handed over the ball. On the third ball of the over, Miller was struck on his pads and Aaron Finch’s men appealed.
The on-field umpires gave that to be not out and in the heat of the moment, the Aussies decided to review the decision. The ball-tracker showed three reds and hence the decision had to be reversed. There was jubilation in the Australian camp as that wicket possibly sealed the game for them.
While all the players were celebrating hard, Pat Cummins had a stoned expression on his face and was staring hard at the big screen. The pacer was trolled hard for this unusual reaction.

The story of the match
Aaron Finch, the Aussie skipper, was brilliant in the game. Although he only scored 41 runs with the bat, his captaincy was just terrific. He made some excellent moves and was quite proactive throughout to make this victory possible. Given that Australia’s performance in recent times hasn’t been great, this was quite a welcoming victory for them.
In the encounter, South Africa won the toss and put Australia into bat first. They bowled the Aussies out for a highly convincing 231 in 48.3 overs. With 47 runs, Alex Carey was the top scorer in the innings. Kagiso Rabada, with four wickets for the Proteas, came up with a brilliant show.
South Africa battled hard to get as close as possible to a win. Although they lost a flurry of wickets at the top, Faf du Plessis (47 off 65 balls) and David Miller (51 off 71 balls) ensured that the ball was still in their court. But, once these two got out, Australia sniffed a win and did extremely well. Marcus Stonis picked three wickets. Moreover, it was Pat Cummins who dismissed Faf du Plessis at a critical time.
