It is a known fact that an Indian squad is currently in Sri Lanka which will be all set to lock horns with the home side in a white ball series commencing July 13. While India’s main squad is in England, a relatively younger squad has been sent to Sri Lanka under the guidance of legendary Rahul Dravid. Shikhar Dhawan has been named as the skipper of the same team.

It has also been seen how Dravid is immensely credited for shaping young Indian talent at the U-19 level. The legendary cricketer also enjoyed huge success with the team’s A-side before taking over as head of cricket operations at NCA Bangalore. As India’s head coach Ravi Shastri is in the UK, Dravid was called up by the BCCI to take charge of the young lot.

In the latest turn of events, the Indian squad came in the field today for the first set of training sessions under the guidance of Dravid. The pictures of the training sessions were shared by the official Twitter handle of BCCI and as pictures started doing rounds, fans went super crazy. Fans and people couldn’t control their excitement while seeing Dravid in action again. Some even demanded to give him the permanent charge of India.

Dravid also expressed his sheer happiness before joining the team and added that his main aim would be to win the series in the island nation.

Here is how Twitter reacted to seeing Rahul Dravid on the field

“There are a lot of people in this squad who are pushing for places or looking to cement their places in the World Cup coming up, but I think the key goal of everyone in the squad is to try and win the series,” Dravid had said.

“The primary objective is to try and win the series and hopefully people get the opportunity to put in some really good performances. These are the only three games before the World Cup. I am sure that you know the selectors and management would have a pretty fair idea by now as to what is the kind of squad that they are looking for,” he added.
