Peshawar Zalmi and Multan Sultans didn’t get off to the best of starts in the 2021 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). The Zalmi, captained by Wahab Riaz, went down to the Lahore Qalandars by four wickets in their first match. Barring Ravi Bopara’s 50 off 44 balls, their batters couldn’t put up much of a fight. Their bowlers were decent but didn’t have a lot of runs to play with.

The Sultans, on the other hand, lost to the Islamabad United by three wickets. Mohammad Rizwan carried on with his good form, but couldn’t help his team go over the finishing line. It’s also pertinent to note that it was the Sultans’ fourth loss in a row in the PSL. Both Zalmi and the Sultans are now set to lock horns on Tuesday, February 23 in Karachi and will be keen to register their maiden win.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at the National Stadium in Karachi has been a sporting one thus far. The bowlers and batters have had their say equally. Chasing should be the way forward going by the numbers thus far. The temperature will be around 24 degrees Celsius with the humidity mostly in the high-60s.

The veteran will want to make amends and make a significant contribution.

Mohammad Rizwan– Multan Sultans

Mohammad Rizwan has been in stupendous form of late. After the T20I series against South Africa, he showed his class against the United. He scored 71 runs off 53 balls with eight fours and two sixes. Apart from him, the Sultans’ batting stuttered a wee bit. He will now be looking for another decent hand.
