Piers Morgan continues to attract a lot of attention of the Indian masses as the British Journalist once again tweeted relating to the country that he offended earlier. Having been considered as someone trying to demean India and the achievement of its athletes at the Olympics, Morgan did his best to clear things out with a tweet to congratulate India’s Paralympics Gold medalist Mariyappan Thangavelu.

He posted a picture of the high jump champion and in the content part wrote that probably he read and picked the motivational message in his tweet. Morgan wrote – ‘Congrats Mariyappan Thangavelu on winning #Paralympics Gold for India. Clearly read my motivational tweets.’

Earlier today Mariyappan created history as he won the gold medal in the men’s high jump T-42 event at the Paralympics in Rio. He was not the only Indian on the podium at the medal ceremony he had compatriot Varun Singh Bhati who claimed the bronze medal for company.

The champion recorded a 1.89 metres jump while Bhati achieved his personal best at 1.86 metres to finish third. Apart from the two Indians it was United States of America’s Sam Grewe who took the silver medal.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar also congratulated him and wrote – ‘Congratulations on your medals at the #Paralympics #MariyappanThangavelu & #VarunBhati. Your strength & spirit is commendable. Keep shining!’
