Pokiri director hopes David Warner does a cameo in his film; Aussie cricketer responds

The lockdown has made many people try new things in life. Australia batsman David Warner has been trying his luck with something new as well. He has been uploading his hilarious Tik Tok videos over the last few days. Among them, his video of dancing on popular number ‘Buttabomma‘ with his wife Candice went viral as well. On Sunday, it was time for another Telugu video and this time, he imitated a famous dialogue.

In the video, Warner can be seen holding his bat and wearing his Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) jersey as well while he delivers the dialogue from the 2006 blockbuster movie Pokiri. Renowned South Indian actor and lead of the movie, Mahesh Babu delivered this iconic dialogue. And it goes without saying that the cricketer had aced it yet again winning the hearts of the fans.

The SRH skipper posted the video on his official social media handles and asked the fans to guess the movie. However, what Warner may not have hoped was a reply from the Director of Pokiri, Puri Jagannadh. After watching the video, he lauded David Warner for his attempt and also went on to state the dialogue suits his aggressive attitude as well.

Moreover, Puri also hoped that the Aussie opener does a cameo in his film some day. “David This is soooo you. Stubborn and aggressive. This dialogue suits you the best. You are fantastic as an actor also, Hope you do a cameo in my film. Love you”, the director wrote on Twitter.

David Warner was also quick to respond to the tweet while also hilariously stating that Puri will have to ask the SRH franchise if they are willing to release him to act in the films. “Trying sir, you may have to see if @SunRisers would put a release in or trade”, Warner wrote.

David Warner has been part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise since 2014. The Aussie batter has revealed that he has learnt some bits and parts of the Telegu language, while his stay at the franchise. Having been removed as the captain of the franchise after the ball-tampering incident, the Aussie star was once again handed over the reins of the franchise for the 2020 season.
