It’s almost the day of the finale of Bigg Boss 12, the celebrity competition, and support is pouring in thick and fast for the finalists – five of them – including former national cricketer S Sreesanth. The other four competitors are Romil Chaudhury, Dipika Kakar, Karanvir Bohra – all TV personalities – besides Deepak Thakur who is a singer.

Their friends and supporters are flowing in blessings and wishes to see their favourite candidate bag the title of the 12th edition of one of the most popular television reality shows in India. Among Sreesanth’s supporters is Pooja Bhatt – the actor-turned-director of Bollywood who recently cast the former cricketer in her upcoming film ‘Cabaret’ said she wanted to see her close friend bag the title.

She urged all the supporters to come forward to back the 35-year-old who has been a member of two World Cup-winning squads for India. Sreesanth was banned by the BCCI after the pace bowler’s name was found involved in a fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League and played his last competitive game of cricket in 2013 for the Rajasthan Royals.

Sreesanth’s wife thanks all for supporting her husband

Another former India cricketer Irfan Khan extended supporter to Sreesanth, his former colleague in the national side, besides actor Priyamani Raj and their support, was acknowledged by Sreesanth’s wife Bhuvneshwari who recently wrote to the BCCI saying the accusations against her husband were false and they have ruined his life. She also thanked Big Boss for making it comfortable for her husband after Sreesanth had a major emotional breakdown in the competition remembering his days in jail where he was put for almost a month in the wake of the fixing scandal.

Sreesanth made a promising debut for India in 2005 and went on to play 27 Tests, 53 ODIs and 10 T20Is till 2011 taking 169 international wickets. He was known for his antics on the field and will be remembered for taking the catch of Pakistan’s Misbah-ul-Haq that won India the Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa in 2007. The top five contestants spent three months in the Bigg Boss House and the final will be aired on Colors channel on Sunday at 9 pm.
