Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has made it a habit to break international cricket records at will. The ace Indian offspinner recently raced to the milestone number of 300 Test wickets. He became the quickest to reach the milestone. Interestingly, Ashwin has been the quickest to reach 250 scalps as well. Also, he had missed out on being the quickest to 200 Test wickets by just one match.
The monumental effort arrived when Ravichandran Ashwin returned with a four wicket haul in the second innings of the recently concluded Nagpur Test against Sri Lanka. Ashwin needed 4 wickets to reach the milestone number and he managed to get the exact same number of wickets. With the dismissal of Lahiru Gamage, not only did India register a thumping win in the match, but also Ashwin reached his personal milestone.
He was ecstatic at having reached the 300 wickets mark. He hopes to double the number now. Soon after the game, he was quick to take to micro blogging site Twitter to express his satisfaction on the achievement. He posted a picture with the Indian captain Virat Kohli as well.
“300th test wicket at the Jamtha (Nagpur), a memorable day. Thank you all@imVkohli look forward to the next 18 months,” Ravichandran Ashwin had tweeted after the match.

Prithi Ashwin trolls her hubby
Amidst this backdrop, one would have expected Prithi Ashwin, wife of Ravichandran Ashwin, to tweet something very sweet for her husband. But, the lady, who is very active on the social media these days, had some other plans. She ended up trolling her hubby by posting a link to another news about the Prince of England. She noted that Ashwin reaching the milestone number is certainly not the biggest news of the day.
“Hey @ashwinravi99 , not trying to be a buzzkill here or take anything away from your 300 wickets but look!,” Prithi Ashwin tweeted.
