The skipper of Peshawar Zalmi Darren Sammy is the latest entrant in the list of injured players in the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He has been ruled out of the action for the next few days due to the knee injury which he sustained a couple of days ago while playing against Quetta Gladiators. However, he will stay with the squad while recovering from his injury. Also, Zalmi is yet to name the skipper to lead the side in his absence.

Sammy had won the lost game for his side in the last game despite not being able to walk. He was injured while fielding and had walked off the field earlier. Though he came out to bat with his team needing some big shots to trump their opponents. The Carribean cricketer didn’t disappoint his fans as he finished the game with three big hits. He sealed the deal by scoring 16 runs with 2 sixes and a boundary in four balls. Sammy threw his bat, stretched and everyone from the Zalmi dugout came charging on to the field to celebrate the victory.

Their wounded hero Darren Sammy had won them the game but now they will have to play without him. Though he will be present in the change room to inspire them, it was his captaincy which made the difference for the defending champions. The official Twitter handle of PSL confirmed the news and his return date is yet to be confirmed. However, the good news for Zalmi is that he hasn’t ruled out of the tournament.
