The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is reaching the final leg of the tournament. The Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings will be playing in their respective crucial last two games of the league stage today. While Darren Sammy’s boys will have a get a win under their belt at any cost to stay in the top-four, the Kings’ fortunes will depend upon the ‘Net Run Rate’ in case they lose. The results of the match wouldn’t make much of a difference for Islamabad United and the Lahore Qalandars.

The Islamabad United are at the top of the table while the Qalandars have no chance to qualify. The ‘Qualifier’ will be played on Sunday in Dubai and then the tournament will move to Pakistan for the last three games. In a crucial encounter yesterday, the Zalmi won the match by a huge margin to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.

Darren Sammy wins many hearts with his statement

Peshawar Zalmi won the game against the Karachi Kings yesterday by 44 runs. Although the Kings would have hoped to win that game and ensure a place in the top-four, that wasn’t to be the case. Kamran Akmal helped Zalmi put up a big score on the board as he scored 75 off 51 deliveries. Darren Sammy provided the fireworks at the end of the innings as he scored 36 off 15.

After the win, Sammy seemed to be delighted. However, he was wary of the fact that they should put up a good show in today’s game. Furthermore, he dedicated this crucial win to batting legend and team mentor Younis Khan. Younis is away from the team owing to the birth of a baby boy at home. This is his third child after eldest son Owais and daughter Ammara.

“Today’s victory was for our legend Younis Khan, who just had a baby yesterday,” Sammy said in a video message soon after the game. “And we’ll come back again tomorrow and we will win again,” he added. He also requested the Zalmi fans to keep supporting them in the future.
