The defending champions Quetta Gladiators signed off the PSL 2020 with a convincing win against Karachi Kings in the last match of the league stage. The home team were limited to 150/5 in the 20 overs which wasn’t possible without Cameron Delport’s 62 from 44 balls. With Lahore Qalandars winning the afternoon match, Quetta needed to chase a miraculous 151 in 3.2 overs. Shane Watson (66 off 34) and Khurram Manzoor (63 off 40) shared a 118-run partnership for the 2nd wicket in only 55 balls as Quetta completed the chase with 3.4 overs to spare.

Yet another win for Quetta over Karachi:

7-3 – Quetta Gladiators has won seven of the ten matches they played against Karachi Kings in the PSL. Two of the four wins for Quetta in this season came against Karachi only.


Babar’s captaincy debut in PSL:

1Babar Azam made his captaincy debut in the Pakistan Super League by leading the Karachi Kings in the absence of Imad Wasim. Babar featured in 44 matches in the league before Sunday. Overall, Babar has stood as captain in ten T20 matches thus far but was on the winning side in only three games.


A record stand for Quetta:

118 – The 118-run partnership between Shane Watson and Khurram Manzoor is only the 2nd 100-run partnership for the 2nd wicket in the Pakistan Super League that began at the score of 0/1. Ahmed Shehzad was dismissed on the 2nd ball of the Quetta’s innings without scoring a run.

During the 2017 season game, the Peshawar Zalmi’s Kamran Akmal and Dawid Malan put on 122 for the 2nd wicket against Islamabad United after they lost Mohammad Hafeez on the first ball of the innings.


Babar @ 2000 runs:

2011 – Babar Azam went past 2000 runs in the Twenty20 format on Pakistan soil with the 32 runs he scored in this game. Babar is the 10th player with 2000 T20 runs in Pakistan and is the fastest to the milestone as he needed only 54 innings.


12 – Babar’s opening partner Sharjeel Khan was dismissed for a duck for the 12th time in Twenty20s on the Pakistan soil. These are the most T20 ducks for any player in Pakistan surpassing Mohammad Hafeez’s 11 ducks.


End of a good tournament for Hasnain:

15 – Mohammad Hasnain’s 15 wickets in this tournament are the joint-most number of wickets for a Quetta Gladiators’ player in a single edition of the PSL. Rahat Ali in 2018 and Sohail Tanvir in 2019 also claimed 15 wickets in a PSL edition for the Gladiators.


Walton @ 3000 runs:

3006 – Chadwick Walton has completed 3000 runs in the Twenty20 cricket during this game. Walton scored 3006 runs in his 149-match career at an average of 23.66 with help of 13 fifties.
