Ben Cutting might find himself in hot waters for his double-finger gesture towards Sohail Tanvir during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 match between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators. Cutting smashed the left-arm pacer for three successive sixes in the 19th over of the first innings. The Australian dasher then raised middle fingers of both his hands while looking at Tanvir.

Needless to mention, Tanvir didn’t like Cutting’s actions as the duo had a conversation in the middle, which eventually seemed sorted. However, this wasn’t the end of the episode. The Pakistan pacer returned the offensive two-finger gesture at Cutting, after taking his catch off Naseem Shah’s bowling in the last over. The Aussie star mistimed a pulled shot and gave a comfortable catch to Tanvir at backward point.

After collecting the ball, Tanvir also made the same gesture to escalate the controversy further. Meanwhile, the rivalry between Tanvir and Cutting dates long back. During the game between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Caribbean Premier League 2018, Tanvir, who represented Guyana, gave the infamous double-finger send-off to Cutting after dismissing him.

As the Aussie batter got the better of Tanvir this time around, he didn’t miss out on settling the scores. However, the duo’s obscene actions might obtain some punishment from match referee after the game. It must be noted that the incident, just like the 2018 episode, took the social media by storm as the duo received heavily criticism for their uncalled for actions.

Speaking of the ongoing game, Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to bat at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Having lost two wickets inside six runs, Zalmi looked in all sorts of trouble. However, half-centuries from Shoaib Malik and Hussain Talat meant the Zalmi posted 185/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Cutting provided the late impetus, scoring 36 off just 14 deliveries, including four sixes.
