PSL franchise Multan Sultans unveils logo and jersey

The team will be coached by Tom Moody.

Pakistan’s very own franchise-based T20 league, the Pakistan Super League (PSL), has been a tremendous success since its inception. Hence, the board decided to expand the league, so as to offer more action and nerve-wrenching drama to the spectators. As a bid to do so, a new franchise from Multan called the Multan Sultans were announced. The Sultans unveiled their logo and jersey at a ceremony on Friday (September 22).

Sultans’ logo has got the right mixture of cricket and local sentiment. It features a cricketer riding a horse, which is also displayed in the jersey. It was only officially announced that the team will have the services of former Pakistani legend Wasim Akram, who will operate as the Director of Cricket. Not only that, Indian Premier League (IPL) winning coach Tom Moody’s role as the head coach of the team was also confirmed.

Speaking about the love his team has been receiving from the locals who seemed to have embraced the Sultans with open arms. director of the team Asher Schon said: “It is great to see everyone welcoming Multan Sultans, the love and enthusiasm is surreal and makes us feel very proud on making the right choice of the team, our logo symbolizes power and visually positions our determination to lead the way, be it on-field or off-field.”

Speaking about the team’s head coach Moody, Schon added, “I believe in Tom we have found the ideal man for this role. He possesses years of coaching experience with various franchises which enables him to play a crucial role in nurturing young talent and player development.”

Wasim is very excited to join Multan

Just like Moody, Wasim Akram has found success with the Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kohlata Knight Riders. Speaking about his new associations, the legend sounded very excited. Wasim emphasised on the fact that he will work hard to produce players who will be able to compete at the top-most levels of the game. He also said that the third season of PSL will be even more enthralling as the fans will witness more games, courtesy the new team, Multan Sultans.
