Nottinghamshire is hoping to sign the South African wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock as an overseas player for the final stages of the ongoing County Championship. Ross Taylor is set to depart shortly after plying his trade for the first half of the season and the left-hander is one of the two targets of the club as his replacement. However, nothing is finalised as of yet and if signed, De Kock could well be available for final six Championship matches of the campaign.

The season for Nottinghamshire is in tatters as they have lost several players due to international call-ups and injuries. They are currently sitting in the middle of Division One in the points table and have struggled to sustain the momentum they gained at the start.

When is De Kock expected to join?

Quinton De Kock will soon embark on the tour of Sri Lanka with Proteas where are they are scheduled to play 2 Tests, 5 ODIs and one-off T20 International. The tour concludes in the mid-August after which he is expected to join the club according to the reports in ESPN Cricinfo in case they manage to sign De Kock.

Also, the County club is also looking forward to competing for the out-for-contract players like Ben Duckett, Joe Clarke and Zak Chappell in order to bolster the squad. A few more transfers among other teams are also in line with Somerset are understood to be pursuing the services of Azhar Ali as an overseas player. As far as the domestic transfer is considered, Middlesex are the favourites to rope in the Somerset all-rounder Lewis Gregory.

Jordan Clark is unlikely to leave Lancashire but the several other counties are looking to sign him including Warwickshire even as Ben Raine of Leicestershire is also in demand this time around courtesy of his performances this season.
