Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has hailed the centurions Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the ongoing third ODI in Kanpur. India and New Zealand are fighting it out in the decider at Green Park after the series was levelled in Pune earlier in the week. Ashwin is currently away from international cricket as the team management has decided to play him in the longest format only. The bowler though enjoyed his off time from the domestic cricket and spared time to watch the match on Sunday.

Virat Kohli and Rohit came together in the seventh over after the early dismissal of Shikhar Dhawan. They both first consolidated the start and stabilised the innings and then launched a counter punch. Kohli played second fiddle to Sharma who played shots which were an absolute pleasure to watch. India posted a mammoth total of 337/6 on the back of the centuries from both the top order batsmen. While Rohit scored 147 to bring up his 15th ton, Virat strolled his way to the 32nd century and scored 113 runs.

Ashwin’s separate tweet for Rohit

Ravichandran Ashwin loved the stupendous knocks from the captain and the vice-captain of the Men in Blue and couldn’t resist himself from posting the messages on social media website Twitter. He lauded Virat for another ton and also informed his followers that he was watching a full game after a long time. He wrote, “ number 32, watching a game from the start after a long time. Top knock from @imVkohli , over to the bowlers now to seal another series.”

Ashwin admitted that cheekily that he had to tweet separately for Rohit and he deserved every bit of it. “Couldn’t fit @ImRo45 in the same tweet, his knock deserved a separate tweet. Class and style personified, well done on another ton bro,” he tweeted for the hitman of the Indian team. Ashwin has been named in the India squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka and his exclusion from the limited overs team is still a bitter pill to swallow for his fans.
