Former Indian skipper Rahul Dravid is considered to be one of the coolest cricketers the cricketing world has ever witnessed. Rahul Dravid is respected all over the cricketing world not only for his batting but for his patience too.
However, there was one instance where his teammates realized that ‘The Wall’ is only a human being and he did lose his cool at times. Dravid’s wife Vijeta Dravid explained the moment when he lost his temper in the dressing room.
Narrating the incident, Vijeta wrote, “Only once, I remember, he [Dravid] returned from a Test and said, “I got a bit angry today. I lost my temper. Shouldn’t have done that.” He wouldn’t say more. Many months later, Viru [Sehwag] told me that he’d actually thrown a chair after a defeat to England in Mumbai. He’d thrown the chair, Viru said, not because the team had lost but because they had lost very badly.”
The incident happened on England’s tour of India in 2006. The match was played in Mumbai and India went on to lose it by 212 runs. What made him feel really bad is the way India lost, after being bundled out for just 100 runs, chasing 313 in the fourth innings of the match.

Dravid, who was the skipper back then, was able to contribute just 9 runs to the team total in that innings and with that loss, India also gave away the lead to draw the series 1-1. No wonder that Rahul Dravid was frustrated with the performance.
Dravid is often considered an epitome of calmness. He is a gentleman cricketer who upholds the values. But the fact that this got to him shows his passion.
