The whole Ramesh Powar and Mithali Raj fiasco has been taking various twists and turns, reminiscing people of the Kohli-Kumble feud 15 months ago. Whilst Mithali Raj admitted that she was devastated to get dropped from the XI in the World T20 semifinal against England, Powar too struck back with some harsh comments.

Interestingly, the Indian women’s team coach came up with a Tweet via his official handle which definitely is an attempt to clear some air regarding the on-going tussle. The reports which suggested that Powar’s professional relationship with Mithali was very poor and he conveyed the same message when he met the BCCI officials.

“Ramesh admitted that his professional relationship with Mithali was strained as he always found her aloof and difficult to handle. He maintained that it was due to poor strike rate that she was dropped against England and also because the team management wanted to maintain a winning combination,” a BCCI official reportedly said.

I deny the contents in the story

The whole nation was fuming out of rage as this altercation cost India a place in the World T20 final. They also missed out their shot at redemption against England, who defeated the Indians by 9 runs in the final of the 50-over World Cup last year. The Eves blue slipped into further humiliation as the English thrashed them by 8 wickets in the semifinal of the World T20.

However, Powar has denied all the reports which quoted him as the victim in this whole saga. He averted the content written down in the reports and also confirmed that he never met with the BCCI officials to discuss this issue. The 40-year-old has been one of the major talking points on social media and not many fans have been taking his side.

“I was shocked to read PTI story about my meeting with the BCCI officials. I totally deny the contents in the story,” His tweet read.
