The inaugural Day-Night Pink Ball Test is all set to be a historic affair with the who’s who from different walks of life set to grace the occasion. From the dignitaries like Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to the likes of PV Sindu, Gopichand, Mary Kom, former Indian cricket stalwarts like VVS Laxman, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev to the entire Bangladesh unit that featured in their country’s maiden Test against India way back in 2000, a whole host of stars from different walks of life are set to be present during the magnanimous affair.

And, now adding her name to what is already a star-studded list of celebrities, is former Indian superstar actress Rani Mukerji. Mukerji, who is set to make her comeback to the silver screen with the sequel of ‘Mardaani’ – Mardaani 2.0, is expected to be at the Eden Gardens during the Day-Night Test between India and Bangladesh.

‘This is the first time I will be watching a match at Eden Gardens’ – Rani Mukherjee

This will be the first time that the Indian actress will be watching a match at the Eden Gardens. Speaking to the media, Rani, whose parents are avid followers of cricket, shared her excitement around the occasion while also revealing how her parents shared stories about the electrifying atmosphere that Eden generates.

“This is the first time I will be watching a match at Eden Gardens. I have always heard from my parents that the atmosphere at Eden is electrifying. It’s going to be quite an experience for me to watch a cricket match live. I am hoping that I too can make wonderful memories out of this day. It’s another happy occasion since I am going to be presenting the message of Mardaani 2 to the people present there and million others who will be watching the match through the broadcaster,” Rani said as quoted by TimesNow.

Rani will be at the Eden Gardens, as part of her ongoing promotions for Mardaani 2.0- a movie produced by Aditya Chopra- and in which she will be playing the role of a fearless Superintendent of police, Shivani Shivaji Roy. The movie hits the theaters on December 13, 2019.

“Rani will be at Eden Gardens when India takes on Bangladesh for the first Test match to be played with the pink ball. Since she will be anyway in the city to promote Mardaani 2, this gave the team a huge opportunity to spread the message of the film to everyone who would be watching this much-hyped match,” said an informer.
