No big surprises were recorded during the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals as the teams that went into the match as favourites qualified to the semi-finals. Gujarat thumped Goa by a record margin while Bengal and Saurashtra took the first innings leads against Odisha and Andhra respectively. Rain threatened Karnataka as Jammu and Kashmir would have made it through in case of incomplete first innings. They were bowled out for 206 while the hosts J&K were 164/5 at a stage before losing their last five wickets for 28 runs including the last three wickets at the same score.
