The third day in the eighth round of Ranji Trophy 2019-20 culminated with many teams cruising to the victory. Most teams had registered a victory on Day 2 itself and the remaining teams accomplished the task on Day 3.

Tamil Nadu registered a comprehensive win against Baroda after curbing the latter to a total of 259 runs in their second innings. Krishnamoorthy Vignesh’s five-wicket haul derailed Baroda’s batting attack as no other batsman apart from Krunal Pandya (74) and Atit Sheth (70) managed to stick to the wicket. Abhinav Mukund, who smashed a brilliant double ton in the first innings to propel Tamil Nadu to 490/7, was adjudged Man of the Match for his heroics.

In the encounter between Mumbai and Saurashtra, Suryakumar Yadav continued his sublime form as he smashed a brilliant century to help Mumbai post a total of 285/3 before the stumps. After his departure, Shams Mulani and Sarfaraz Khan steadied Mumbai’s ship with a 50-run stand.

Delhi also showcased a formidable batting display against Gujarat as their wicketkeeper-opener Anuj Rawat scored a brilliant 133-run knock to steer his side to a solid start. Delhi established a 186-run lead over Gujarat at the stumps.

Chandigarh registered an emphatic victory over Mizoram after decimating their batting force in the second innings. Gurinder Singh and Arpit Pannu wreaked havoc on Mizoram batsmen as the duo scalped six wickets to bowl Mizoram out on a total of 122 runs. Chandigarh clinched the encounter by the margin of an innings and 356 runs and Uday Kaul was adjudged Man of the Match for his double ton in the first innings.

Jammu and Kashmir also continued their winning form by thrashing Tripura by 329 runs. The Tripura side was swept on a modest total of 119 runs in their second innings due to skipper Parvez Rasool’s five wicket-haul. Aquib Nabi and Abid Mushtaq also scalped two wickets each to steer Jammu and Kashmir to the triumph.
