Indian Premier League is one the biggest T20 league across the globe in which the Indian players as well as overseas players come and take part. Every professional cricketer dreams of playing in IPL for once in his life. It has undoubtedly become the breeding ground for the talented and exciting cricketers that have helped other countries to find new faces that can help their side in international assignments.

It is good to be part of this T20 tournament but the important thing is to maintain consistency with the bat and ball. However, it is quite difficult to do so for a long time. This has been a major reason behind some players losing their place in the team that indirectly forced them out of the limelight.

Many big players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Sourav Ganguly have so far featured in this cash-rich league. And it is a very difficult task to pick the top 5 batsmen in the 12-year-long history of this tournament.

However, let’s pick the best five batsmen in the history of Indian Premier League:

5. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma, popularly known as the ‘Hitman’ is one of the most successful batsmen in the history of IPL. After Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina, he is on number three position in terms of all-time leading run-scorer in Indian Premier League. In 188 games, he has amassed 4898 runs with one ton and 36 half-centuries. Meanwhile, he helped Mumbai Indians in winning IPL trophy on as manas four occasions– 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019.

The right-hander gives the flexibility to his team to use him on the No.2 position or as a specialist opener. He has always lived up to the expectations of the fans and franchise as Rohit comes out with flying performances. He is one of the deadly openers in world cricket, who is also famous for his trademark pull stroke that fans dream to watch on a repeat mode.

Rohit is technically a very sound batsman who is always a headache for the opponent bowlers. For everything that he has done so far for MI with the help of his willow, he should be honoured with 5th position in the list of the all-time best batsman in the history of Indian Premier League.
