The Indian team played the last T20I of the series against Ireland last night and won the game with absolute authority. Skipper Virat Kohli had made it clear that all the players who didn’t get a game in the first outing will be included in the final game as they want all of them to have match time under their belt on this tour. Thus, the excluded both the pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah to include Umesh Yadav who was playing his first T20I in 6 years and handed over Siddarth Kaul his maiden India cap.

MS Dhoni who gave Kaul the cap was also rested for the game and Dinesh Karthik took the gloves for the game. Against a clueless Ireland batting attack, Kaul enjoyed bowling with the new ball. He used his variations really well and none of the batsmen could read his knuckle ball. He got the wicket of Irish opener James Shannon who had scored a fifty in the last game and opened his account in international cricket.

Kaul needed to bowl just 2 overs in the game as the opposition was bowled out in the 13th over for 70 runs. He gave away just 4 runs and took one wicket in his spell. Over the years the Punjab cricketer has evolved as an excellent short-form bowler as he can keep things tight with the new ball, swing it around a bit and then get in the yorkers and slower balls in the death to keep the opposition down and also has the ability to defend small scores.

His Indian Premier League (IPL) team-mate Rashid Khan was excited to see Siddarth make his debut and how he performed. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Afghanistan recruit replied to the Indian’s tweet after the match and congratulated him and stated that he was really happy.
