Rashid Khan has been an enigma for batters all across the globe. The youngster has a bag of tricks and batsmen have found it tough to get the measure of him. In a relatively short career, the Nangarhar-born tweaker has also played a plethora of games, especially in the T20 format. At the age of 21, the leg-spin bowler already has a significant 267 wickets in the shortest version.

He generally doesn’t believe in giving the ball much air and rather prefers to push the ball through. Rashid has hurried batters at times owing to which he has got batters out, bowled and LBW on quite a few instances. It goes without saying that he’s a go-to-man for a captain, no matter whether he’s representing Afghanistan at the highest level or any T20 franchise team in the world.

A number of aspiring cricketers see Rashid as their inspiration and wishes to be like him in the future. Recently, a Young Turk asked the spinner about how to bowl the googly, a delivery Rashid has mastered. The Afghan prodigy didn’t let him down. He said that bowling the wrong’urn isn’t tough and helped him out. The video was uploaded by Raees Ahmadzai, a former cricketer.

Rashid is presently plying his trade for the Band-e-Amir Dragons in the ongoing edition of the Shpageeza Cricket League. He is the captain of the side and hasn’t had the best of times. In the first two games versus Kabul Eagles and Mis Ainak Knights, the tweaker couldn’t pick up a single wicket.

To add to his agony, his team lost both the matches. He didn’t play the last contest and the Dragons won by seven wickets. Their next encounter is against the Speed Ghar Tigers on Saturday, October 12 in Kabul and it remains to be seen whether Rashid returns for the crucial encounter or not.

Rashid last played international cricket in Bangladesh where he played a one-off Test in Chattogram and a tri-nation T20I series. In the red-ball game, he was the Player of the Match after becoming the youngest Test skipper ever. He is expected to break a number of records in the future.
