Rashid’s most interesting answer perhaps came when he was asked to name an actor who he would love to see portraying his role on the screen if a film is made on him ever.

At 20, Rashid Khan has already conquered half the cricketing world. The leg-break bowler was back to international cricket after a few months and in three T20Is played against Ireland, he picked 11 wickets. The final of the three games played in Dehradun saw Rashid picking up a fifer, his second in the format, and that included a hat-trick. The man is just five short of his 200th international wicket now and one can truly imagine where he could finish at the end of an extremely promising career.

Rashid recently appeared for a 25-question interview with ESPNcricinfo where he came up with some interesting answers. Speaking with Jason Dasey, Rashid said he would like to meet Portuguese football icon Cristiano Ronaldo if he had the opportunity to meet a sportsperson from another sporting discipline.

Rashid was then asked to name the best bowler he has faced and he took the name of Windies off-break bowler Sunil Narine, 10 years senior to him. The latter though hasn’t played an international match since 2017, he is a big name in T20 cricket with 360 wickets from 314 matches.

Rashid would have loved to bowl to Sachin Tendulkar

Rashid, who said he would love to score the fastest fifty in cricket, named former India captain Sachin Tendulkar when asked which batsman from history he would love to bowl at. However, Rashid’s most interesting answer perhaps came when he was asked to name an actor who he would love to see portraying his role on the screen if a film is made on him ever. Rashid’s pick was another Khan – Aamir – of the biggest stars of the Indian film industry.

Rashid recently played in the Big Bash League in Australia where he represented Adelaide Strikers, the last season’s champions. He was in quite a decent form in that tournament before making a real impact in the T20I series against Ireland. Afghanistan will next play Ireland in a five ODI series as crucial preparation for the ICC World Cup before taking on the European side in a one-off Test, their second since making debut against India last year. Rashid though failed to impress much in the red-ball cricket on that occasion.
